Thanks for sharing this informative and relevant article for the parents. Could you also suggests steps – tips to overcome the same or at least few do’s and don’ts.

I’m sure you understand that internet is like the forbidden fruit.. the more you dis allow the kids the more they want to be there..!!

Really nice to hear from you and thanks for the kind words. I too have been following you for sometime now and would like to commend the wonderful job of creating awareness that you have been doing both online and offline.

Like you, I firmly believe that the coming years would pose a greater and varied challenge to our children and parents alike. My vision is to help ensure a secure childhood, leading to a safer planet.

Like minded people like us owe this to our kids and the more of us get-together and create awareness, I believe we will be doing our bit to contribute for a safer planet. If there is any way we would work towards this end, I would definitely like to join hands with you.

It was great to see the initiative you are running specially with your blogs.. just like to introduce myself… i am software professional and running this drive called safe surfing by going schools to colleges and giving live workshops on how to be safe with rising cyber crime and problems related to kids.. till date have covered 47 cities , 13 states and 400+ schools with 4.0 lacs students.. addressing them the problems of cyberworld…. almost 23,000+ are online with me on facebook… with my 2 profiles and fan page….they go thru lots of cyberbullying and cyber defamation problems.. almost 30-40 msgs daily i get from all across india…..

I would really love to work with you.. on the same and contribute my services and experience to the wonderful job you are doing….

Recently i was invited by European commission on the same as Non EU Expert and i visited there Safer Interent Forum also at Luxembourg.. they are doing a great job in this field….

Eraser: For what? You didn’t do anything wrong.

Pencil: I’m sorry bcos you get hurt bcos of me. Whenever I made a mistake,you’re always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose apart of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That’s true. But I don’t really mind. You see, I was made to dothis. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though oneday, I know I’ll be gone and you’ll replace me with a new one, I’m actuallyhappy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.

I found this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational.Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil. They’realways there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes alongthe way… they get hurt, and become smaller (older, and eventually pass on).Though their children will eventually find someone new (spouse), but parentsare still happy with what they do for their children, and will always hateseeing their precious ones worrying, or sad.

It’s really a challenge for parents to get tech savvy and stay on top of everything… And as uncool as it maybe for young teens to befriend their parents on the social networking sites I think that’s a practical approach. I have a lot of moms friends here who joined FB, myspace and all such sites to keep a vigilant eye on their kids..”
